All UNC students are required to complete a minimum of 31 credit hours from their LAC, regardless of major. Please visit the University Catalog for more information on the Liberal Arts Curriculum. Students declared in catalog years prior to Fall 2021 should see the “Liberal Arts Core” section.

Understanding LAC Course Credit
Courses in the Liberal Arts Curriculum (LAC) can count toward LAC categories if taken during the approved semester.

Have older credits?
Coursework taken more than 10 years ago may be subject to review—check out the University’s policy on previous and transfer credits.
