Liberal Arts Curriculum Information
In Fall 2019 the faculty of UNC approved the Liberal Arts Curriculum to replace the Liberal Arts Core. The Liberal Arts Curriculum is effective starting Fall 2021.
The curriculum streamlines the requirements in order to reduce time to degree completion and improve the Liberal Arts experience for all students. This curriculum accommodates the CDHE's general education requirements and maintains UNC’s commitment to Multicultural and International Studies and the Liberal Arts.
All UNC students are required to complete a minimum of 31 LAC credit hours, regardless of major. The UNC catalog contains information on the specific LAC distribution requirements students must fulfill. See the 2022-2023 Undergraduate Catalog for more information, as well as the following links:

For information regarding the Liberal Arts Core effective through Summer 2021, check out the Liberal Arts Core page on the Office of the Registrar website. Every student's personalized Degree Works page will also describe the specific requirements they must fulfill and indicate their progress to date.
