Summer Housing for Graduate and Extended Campus Programs

We’re so glad you’re here! This page is focused on summer housing: graduate students looking for housing during the academic year can find more information on our Apply for Housing page.

What To Bring With You

What you choose to bring is based on your unique circumstances. Linens, towels, clothing, toiletries, laundry soap and course supplies are sufficient for most students. You may want bring hangers, as they are not provided in wardrobes or closets. UNC offers Bear Print stations around campus, so there’s no need to bring a printer. We also have items for checkout from your front desks including cleaning supplies, games, movies and cooking equipment.

Summer students will live in North Hall or South Hall, which are on West Campus within walking distance of Holmes Dining Hall, the Campus Recreation Center, Campus Commons, University Center and academic buildings. You’ll have kitchens, laundry rooms and spacious lounges with TVs. There are also music practice rooms and study rooms throughout, as well as larger spaces on the first floor for gatherings.

Living on Campus

From application through move-out, we’ve got you covered every step of the way. Can’t find the answer to your question? Email us at housing@unco.edu.

Completing Your Summer Housing Contract

  • Log into the UNC Housing Portal using your MyUNC login.
  • On the Home page, go to “Your Housing Applications” and click “View Applications.”
  • Find the “Summer – Extended Campus” or “Summer – Extended Campus – ASLEI” housing contract and click “Apply Now.”
  • Answer all required questions and click “Save and Continue.”
  • Review the Terms and Conditions and confirm your contract.
  • Click “Pay deposit with TouchNet” to move to the payment page.
  • Once your deposit is paid, you’ll see a confirmation screen and receive a confirmation email in your UNC BearMail.
  • You’re all set – your housing application is done!

In South Hall and North Hall, most rooms are four-person suites with two double bedrooms, but single rooms within a suite or designated single rooms may be available. We also offer the option to “buy out” a room; this allows a double-occupancy bedroom to just have one person in it.

You will check in at the North Hall Community Desk. Most check-ins happen one day prior to the start of the academic program (generally on a weekend). Please contact our office and indicate on your application if you will need to change your arrival date. Upon check-in you will receive a room inventory to fill out and return to the front desk.

At the end of your time on campus, you’ll need to schedule your check out with a staff member. Check out appointments take about an hour.

Cleaning supplies, package pick-up and keys to music rooms are just a few of the services available to you at the front desk.

Need help with something in your room that’s not working right? You can contact the Ridge Front Desk at 970-351-2752 or submit a Work Request through UNC’s TMA iService Desk and use your BearMail for updates.

Note: You need to be connected to UNC Wired or Wireless Internet to submit a request.

To send mail via USPS, UPS, FedEx or other provider, please use our guidelines to ensure your mail arrives in a timely manner. Please do NOT put “UNC” or “University of Northern Colorado” on any mail. This will redirect it to the UNC general mail room for faculty, staff and department mail.

Wireless and wired connections are provided in student bedrooms. For devices that have a wired network connection, an ethernet cable is advised for the most reliable connection. Submit an online ticket for assistance or call Information Management & Technology at 970-351-4357 (970-351-HELP) if you need assistance.

  • Wired: Internet-connected game stations, Smart TVs, DVD/Blu-Ray Players, Apple TVs, Roku devices, etc. can generally be connected to the UNC network through a wired connection after being enabled by Information Management & Technology.
  • Wireless: Connect to Wi-Fi by searching for available networks and select UNC-STUDENT. The password is UNCStudent (case sensitive). Your username and password are your UNC student (MyUNC) log-in and password.

No need to bring a printer with you! Take advantage of our convenient Bear Print stations located around campus.

Dining options are open during the summer session. For additional information about locations, hours and meal plans, please see UNC Dining Services.

Counseling Center

We Care For The Bears!

The UNC Counseling Center Staff are licensed mental health professionals or trainees supervised by licensed mental health professionals.  We are a team of caring and committed staff with experience in helping students. We understand that the stress of life challenges or unforeseen circumstances is sometimes more than any one of us can manage on our own. It is okay to be overwhelmed and reach out for help.  Just call us for an appointment.

We Create Community For The Bears!

UNC invites all community members to help co-create a culture where students, faculty, and staff are supported in managing and advancing their own mental health. Additional resources can be found here: Mental Health Support for the UNC Community
