Are you a middle school or high school student who is passionate about singing and performing? 9th Ave Voices is for you!
9th Ave Voices is a contemporary vocal ensemble for students age 13-18. You’ll get opportunities to develop healthy vocal technique, musicianship, stage presence and confidence while performing contemporary choral repertoire. Unlike a traditional school choir, we focus on contemporary styles including pop, jazz, musical theatre, contemporary a cappella and other modern vocal music. You will be a part of a positive, collaborative environment led by experienced choral educators and supported by the resources of UNC’s nationally recognized School of Music.
Whether you’re looking to continue singing outside of school, grow as a vocalist and performer or simply find a community of people who love making music, 9th Ave Voices is a place where every singer belongs.

$100 per semester

Meet the Director
Rosie O’Connor, Artistic Director
Rosie O’Connor is a Doctor of Arts student in Choral Conducting at the University of Northern Colorado and serves as the director of 9th Ave. Voices. She previously taught middle and high school choir in Colorado for ten years and is passionate about creating welcoming musical communities where every student can develop confidence, artistry, and a lifelong love of singing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! We welcome singers, aged 13-18, who are excited to learn and grow. Members should be able to generally match pitch and be willing to learn their music independently using the practice tracks we provide.
No. But there will be a small placement during one of the first few rehearsals, so Mrs. O’Connor can listen to your voice.
No. Students from any school, homeschool programs, or private schools are welcome.
