Take Your Next Steps

If you attended UNC previously, did not complete your degree, and want to return to UNC as a full-time degree-seeking student – select your dropdown below for your detailed next steps.

If you attended UNC previously and would like to return to complete your undergraduate degree, here are your next steps.

  1. Complete the Returning Student Application.
  2. Review the status update email (sent to the email used on your application) containing confirmation and next steps. Please allow up to 72 hours for processing.
  3. (Re)Activate your Student Ursa Account, UNC’s current student online portal. If you have any problems, please contact technical support at 970-351-4357.
  4. Identify the academic advisor for your planned degree program. Schedule a meeting with them where you’ll both review your degree plan and receive your registration PIN number.
  5. Use your PIN number to register for classes. See registration schedule.
  6. Apply for housing or financial aid if needed.

 

Returning Student Application

 

If you received a previous Bachelor’s degree from UNC, you may pursue an additional degree (in a program different than your first degree). Here are your next steps:

  1. Complete the Returning Student Application.
  2. Review the status update email (sent to the email used on your application) containing confirmation and next steps. Please allow up to 72 hours for processing.

Note: If you attended UNC before receiving a Bachelor’s degree from another university, you will need to submit the undergraduate application for admission to any undergraduate programs.

Returning Student Application

 

If you previously attended UNC as a degree-seeking graduate student, did not arrange approved continuous registration through the Graduate School, and you would like to return to complete your degree, you’ll need to reapply and submit all required materials by the program deadline. If you left UNC on academic probation or suspension, please contact Student Academic Success at probation@unco.edu prior to submitting the Returning Student Application. They will determine what requirements need to be met for your return.

 

If you attended UNC previously, do not plan to complete a degree, and are wanting to take a few courses regardless of level of study (grad vs. undergrad), you should apply as a non-degree seeking student.
