Home to about 375 Bears, North Hall offers spacious suite-style living with cozy spots to relax or study under its signature circular windows. Located across from Campus Commons and close to Holmes Dining and West Campus classes, it’s easy to stay connected and active.
North is home to several Living and Learning Communities—including Nursing, Business, Education, Biology, Outdoor Pursuits, and more—making it a great place to find your people and build lifelong connections.

Basin Neighborhood
The Basin Neighborhood is located the closest to athletic games, the Gear Shop and Outdoor Pursuits, the Campus Recreation Center and Michener Library on West Campus.

Located on West Campus and known for the cozy brick architecture that overlooks all of 11th Avenue and West Campus, the Ridge Neighborhood features the tallest residence hall.

Comfort and flexibility—your bed, your way.
Each room includes:
- An adjustable-height twin (regular) bed
- A dual-firmness mattress—flip it for firm or extra firm support
- Bed dimensions: approx. 80.5″ long x 41″ wide x 37″ high
Customize your bed height to match your storage needs and comfort.
Setting Clearance Under Bed:
- Low (or bunked) 11 inches
- Middle (default) 21 inches
- High 31 inches
Beds are typically set to the middle height at move-in for a balance of under-bed storage and easy access.
Some North Hall rooms may have bunked beds when you arrive to help save space. If you’d prefer a different setup, you’re welcome to bunk or un-bunk your bed after move-in.
Each room has a desk and a two-position desk chair for each resident. The desks are approximately 48″ wide by 24″ deep and 30″ high.

What’s Provided
Rooms in North Hall do not come with a refrigerator or microwave, so you’ll need to plan ahead.

To avoid doubles, talk with your roommate(s) about who’s bringing what before move-in.

Private Bathroom Area
Each North Hall suite includes a full bathroom—no need to leave your room to brush your teeth, wash up, or get ready for the day.

Plenty of space to keep your wardrobe organized and easy to access.
Closets
Each resident has their own closet but the size will vary by room.
Under-Bed Dresser
Every room includes a 4-drawer dresser that fits perfectly under your bed.
Approx. size: 46″ wide x 22″ deep x 20″ high
Ideal for folded clothes, workout gear, and anything else you need to tuck away.
The closets in each room should allow for storage of clothing, as well as other items such as boxes, books, athletic gear, etc. There is also limited shared storage in the bathroom. Each room has a bookcase.

Most North Hall rooms have either double-hung windows or casement windows that can be opened by the residents who want to enjoy a breeze from time to time.

Most windows come with fire-retardant drapes to help block out sunlight when you’re resting, studying, or just want a little privacy.
The Ridge Neighborhood
Located on West Campus and known for the cozy brick architecture that overlooks all of 11th Avenue and West Campus, the Ridge Neighborhood features the tallest residence hall. The Ridge Neighborhood is within walking distance of Holmes Dining Hall, the Campus Recreation Center, Turner Green, Campus Commons and the University Center. The Ridge Neighborhood surrounds the campus with areas where students can study, play frisbee golf, eat with friends, socialize and relax on many of the open green spaces.
