School of Music

At the UNC School of Music, you’ll join a creative and supportive community of performers, composers, teachers, and music industry professionals. Everyone here believes that music has the power to make a difference in the world. With a strong history of excellence, you’ll be part of a tradition that inspires both today’s learning and tomorrow’s success.

You’ll study alongside over 350 students and learn from more than 70 faculty members. You can choose from bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in areas like performance, music education, jazz studies, music business and recording arts, technology, composition, theory, and music history and literature. The University of Northern Colorado has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1967.

Each year, you’ll have the chance to attend or perform in over 40 concerts in our modern Campus Commons Performance Hall, plus more than 100 student and faculty recitals. You’ll also be part of exciting events like the UNC•Greeley Jazz Festival, Colorado All-State Band, Western States Honors Orchestra, Open Space Festival of New Music, and the Bailey Choral Festival. Our school plays an important role in the Greeley Creative District, helping bring new life to the city’s center.

There’s no shortage of places for you to perform! Campus Commons Performance Hall is the School of Music’s premier venue. The 668-seat hall is the musical heart of UNC and home to an exciting schedule of concerts and events for our community. We also have over 28 Wenger sound-isolation practice rooms, a professional Recording Studio and 4 Project Studios, a stand-alone Music Library and All-Steinway status.
