Fall Student Advising and Registration

Incoming first-year students will attend a group advising session this summer during orientation where they will register for their fall semester classes. Both students and parents/support people will receive detailed instructions from the Office of Admissions. Continue to check your email to learn more.

Incoming transfer students will be reached out to the Office of Admissions with an invitation to attend Transfer Orientation during the summer. Students will get the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor to register for their classes. Continue to check your email to learn more.

Spring Student Advising and Registration

All new transfer students will have an individual academic advising appointment to discuss and register for their Spring courses.  To be connected with your advisor and schedule an advising appointment, please email the Student Success Resource Center with your name, major, and Bear Number. We recommend reaching out as soon as possible to prepare for your upcoming registration date.

New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation goes side-by-side with academic advising and course registration. While your advising session will prepare you to register for classes, New Student Orientation will give you all the insider information you need to transition smoothly to UNC and make the most of student services, clubs and organizations, fitness and wellness, and more. You’ll also connect with current and fellow incoming Bears. Watch for emails with more information about registering for a New Student Orientation session.
