Supporting Youth

Mentors spend four hours each week with their mentee. During that time, they:

  • Help with homework and GED prep.

  • Share information about college and other education options.

  • Talk about future goals.

  • Have fun, explore campus, and do group activities together.

Mentors attend Campus Connections one night a week from 3:30–9:00 p.m. Youth mentees join from 4:30–8:30 p.m. Mentors come early and stay later to prepare and wrap up the evening.

Fun Activities

Mentors and mentees also take part in activities that are fun, healthy, and help them grow. Mentors help plan and lead these throughout the semester. Activities may include:

  • Sports (basketball, volleyball, kickball, etc.)
  • Arts and crafts
  • Cooking healthy meals and snacks
  • Cultural awareness activities
  • Personal growth activities
  • Interactive games
  • And much more!
