TELUS Health Student Support
TELUS is an innovative mental health program that will provide 24/7 mental health and well-being support, free for students.
UNC is proud to launch the TELUS Health Student Support app, coming August 1!
TELUS Health Student Support will provide students with 24/7 mental health and well-being support. This program is available at no cost to students. It complements UNC’s on-campus Counseling Center and other mental health resources.
As part of TELUS, students will be able to:
- Access crisis services via phone or text 24/7 from Master’s-level clinicians in English, Spanish, French, Mandarin and Cantonese.
- Access short-term scheduled counseling sessions via phone or video.
- Connect with other students across the country via TELUS’ online platform to give and receive support from peers. The hub is monitored for safety concerns by a mental health professional.
TELUS counselors can support students with:
- Adapting to new cultures;
- Being successful in school;
- Navigating relationships with friends and family;
- Handling stress, anxiety, sadness and loneliness;
- And much more.
Anyone who is concerned about the mental health of a student—faculty, staff, parents, family or friends—will be able to call TELUS to receive after-hours mental health consultation.
