Student Employment

Student employees are vital in meeting the goals and objectives of the University Libraries to provide a wide variety of services to the university community and beyond. Students are involved in every aspect of providing library services in the James A. Michener Library and the Skinner Music Library. Duties vary from public services assistance to technical processing. The University Libraries employs approximately 100 students throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Students who are awarded work study through the financial aid process primarily make up the workforce during the fall and spring semesters. Non-work study (hourly) applicants are highly unlikely to be hired during the academic year. Non-work study students are hired for the summer sessions.

Students interested in employment with the University Libraries may visit our job posting on Handshake to apply.  While the majority of our hiring takes place prior to the fall semester, we encourage applicants to submit their information to our job pool to keep your application active for the semester.

For more information on employment with the University Libraries or to check on the status of an application already submitted, please email library.studentemployment@unco.edu.
