Graduation Dates and Deadlines

Here, you will find key dates to help you stay on track, like when you need to make any name changes that will appear in the commencement program. Keep in mind that name changes require legal documents and must be submitted by the deadline, along with the proper form. Make sure to follow these deadlines so everything is correct and ready for your graduation celebration! If you have any questions, you can also email the Office of the Registrar for help.

Spring 2026 Undergraduate Commencement

Note: Summer 2026 candidates are invited to participate in the Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony.

November 10, 2025	Spring 2026 Undergraduate Graduation Application opens.
February 16, 2026	Ticket request details emailed at 5 p.m. to students who have applied for graduation.
February 23, 2026	Spring 2026 Commencement Speaker Application Deadline. Application available on the Commencement Resources for Students website.
March 3, 2026	Commencement Fair 2:00 to 5:00 pm Commencement Fair Site Cap and Gowns will be available at the Fair!
March 4, 2026	Commencement Fair 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Commencement Fair Site Virtual Fair 5:00 to 6:00 pm Commencement Fair Site Cap and Gowns will be available at the Fair!
March 8, 2026	Applications for graduation must be accepted/approved by this date in order to have your name printed in the Commencement program.
March 15, 2026 5:00pm	Deadline for any name changes to be reflected in Commencement program. (For those that met the above deadline).
March 31, 2026	Deadline at 11:59 p.m. MDT for ticket request with initial allotment of up to 6 tickets/graduating student.
April 1, 2026	Availability of additional tickets emailed at 5 p.m. to students who have applied for graduation. (Dependent upon number of tickets requested by Monday, March 30 deadline.)
April 3, 2026 (9:59 pm MST)	Deadline to order cap and gown. See Commencement site for order information. Campus Pick up during Distribution days (May 7-8, 2026)
April 10, 2026 (9:59 MST)	Deadline to order cap and gown. See the Commencement site for order information. Ship to Home Standard Service.
April 17, 2026 (9:59 MST)	Deadline to order cap and gown. See the Commencement site for order information. Ship to Rush Service.
April 20, 2026	Applications for graduation must be accepted/approved by this date in order to have your name appear in the digital program.
April 26, 2026	Deadline for any name changes to be reflected in Digital Commencement program. (For those that met the above deadline).
May 1, 2026	If a final allotment of tickets remains available, this will be emailed to students who have applied for graduation. (Dependent upon number of tickets requested by April 30.) This potential final allotment is not guaranteed.
May 7, 2026	Cap and Gown Pick up. Recreation Center, Small Gym 3 pm to 6 pm.
May 8, 2026	Final ticket request deadline at noon MDT, based on ticket availability.
May 8, 2026	Cap and Gown Pick up. Recreation Center, Small Gym 10 am to 5 pm.
May 8, 2026	Deadline to have Spring 2026 undergraduate application submitted.
May 9, 2026	Undergraduate Commencement
May 13, 2026	All grades including those for final semester are due.
May 27, 2026	Official transcripts from other institutions with all final grades must be received by the Office of the Registrar (Please send those official transcripts to transfereval@unco.edu) no later than 5 p.m. If your transcript is received after this date, you will be considered a tentative Summer 2026 graduate.
May 27, 2026	The final deadline for all course adjustments, test scores, portfolios, recitals, grades, and any other outstanding graduation requirements for Spring 2026 tentative graduates. Tentative Spring 2026 graduates who are not meeting all their requirements by the deadline will be considered a tentative Summer 2026 graduate.
June 15, 2026	Spring degrees will be conferred (verified by the Office of the Registrar) on June 16, 2025. Transcripts will be available after June 15, 2026 and will show a graduation date of May 9, 2026.
June 29, 2026	Diplomas available with degree.

December 11, 2026	Cap and Gown Pick up (Campus Recreation Center) 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
December 11, 2026	Deadline to have the Fall 2026 undergraduate application submitted.
December 12, 2026	Undergraduate Commencement
December 16, 2026	All grades, including those for the final semester, are due.
January 6, 2027	Official transcripts from other institutions with all final grades must be received by the Office of the Registrar no later than 5 p.m. If your transcript is received after this date, you will be considered a tentative Spring 2027 graduate.
January 6, 2027	The final deadline for all course adjustments, test scores, portfolios, recitals, grades, graduation application, and any other outstanding graduation requirements for Fall 2026 tentative graduates. Tentative Fall 2026 graduates who are not meeting all their requirements by the deadline will be considered a tentative Spring 2027 graduate.
January 20, 2027	Fall 2026 degrees will be conferred (verified by the Office of the Registrar) on January 20, 2026. Transcripts will be available after January 20, 2026, and will show a graduation date of December 13, 2025.
February 10, 2026	Diplomas are available with the final degree.
