ForFlor Leos, the opportunity to see the work of another artist was transformational. A senior majoring in Ceramics and minoring in Mexican American Studies,*Leos says that when Chicano muralist Leo Tanguma came to UNC her junior year, it shaped her path and her view of her own art.

As Mark and Tammy Berven reflected on their experiences at UNC, they decided to establish the Berven Athletic Leadership Scholarship, which supports one football student-athlete and one female student-athlete who are in their third or fourth seasons and who are active leaders on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

After a national search launched earlier this year, the University of Northern Colorado Foundation has selected Tony Troxell as its next president. Troxell, who officially stepped into his role on Sept. 16, will be responsible for the overall management of Foundation activities including gift acceptance, distribution of gifts to the university, and investment management.

UNC’s Emergency Support Fund has provided Bears with financial support just when they need it most.

The lure of exploring endless possibilities and the challenge of solving puzzles is what drew Bonnie Buss to the field of chemistry. That combination is something she hopes will also inspire and excite her students, both in the classroom and the lab, as she steps into her new role as assistant professor in UNC’s Chemistry and Biochemistry department this fall.
