UNC Hires Ombudsperson to Provide Faculty and Staff a New Resource on Campus
The University of Northern Colorado is restoring a former staff position intended to further foster an environment where faculty and staff feel supported personally and professionally to develop an enriching experience for UNC students. This position – an ombudsperson – has not existed at the university for the last two decades-plus, until now, with the recent addition of Johnny Armijo to serve in this role.

UNC Selects New General Counsel
The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Jacquie Rich Fredericks, Ed.D., J.D., as the university’s next vice president, general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees. Fredericks, who has worked for the Colorado Department of Law (DOL) for the past 11 years, will begin at UNC on Aug. 15.

UNC Collaborating with Community Partners on Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration
The University of Northern Colorado’s Marcus Garvey Cultural Center (MGCC), in collaboration with the City of Greeley and powered by PDC Energy, is hosting the first-ever community-wide Juneteenth celebration. The event, scheduled for Friday, June 17, noon to 4 p.m., at the MGCC (928 20th Street, Greeley), is free and open to the public.
