Daniels Scholar Success Program

The Daniels Scholars Success Program (DSSP) helps Daniels Scholars thrive through connection, community, leadership, and service opportunities.

What is the Daniels Scholars Success Program?

The Daniels Scholars Success Program (DSSP) is part of the Daniels Scholarship Program. It was created to help Daniels Scholars succeed during college and beyond.

The DSSP focuses on:

  • Helping scholars graduate in four years
  • Building strong connections on campus and with the Daniels Fund
  • Offering academic, career, and leadership support
  • Encouraging service and leadership in the community

UNC is one of the Daniels Fund’s official Partner Schools. Curious about Daniels partnerships? See the Daniels Fund website for more info.

What does the DSSP provide?

Through the program, Daniels Scholars receive:

Events & Community

Each year, DSSP campuses, including UNC, host gatherings and service opportunities to keep Daniels Scholars connected and supported, such as:

  • Welcome & Kickoff Dinner start the year with community and connection
  • Career and/or Leadership Development Workshop(s) – build skills and explore opportunities and resources
  • Daniels Fund Day of Service and Additional Service Opportunities – give back to the community
  • Scholar Socials and Connection Nights – optional gatherings like study nights, games, bowling, and more
  • End-of-Year Celebration & Graduate Banquet – honor accomplishments and celebrate scholars

These events are a chance to build community, develop new skills, share resources, and celebrate progress throughout the year.
