Future Students
The Center for Human Enrichment (CHE) provides support to first generation college students; these are students whose parents or legal guardians do not hold a bachelor’s degree or students who have independent status, living outside the support of a natural or adoptive parent.
As a CHE participant, you will become part of a caring community that will support your academic and personal growth until you graduate from UNC. The CHE program is recognize in the top 1% of all federally funded Student Support Services (SSS) programs in the nation.

Eligibility Requirements
Each year the Center for Human Enrichment (CHE) program accepts approximately 60-70 new students who are the first in their families to attend college. To be eligible students must:
- be a first-generation college student (meaning neither parent earned a college degree)
- meet federal income guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Education
- accepted students must be committed to utilizing CHE's program services throughout their undergraduate career.

the submission instructions, before submitting your application make sure to upload the required files as this will help the CHE staff process your application in a timely manner.
We will continue to review applications in the order received until we have filled
our new cohort for the academic 2023-2024 year.
