Welcome to the ELPS Student Resource Page
Here, students currently enrolled in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) programs can find important information about program forms and comprehensive exams. Use this page to access everything you need to stay on track as you move through your program and prepare for graduation.
Comprehensive Exam Information
The ELPS Master’s and Education Specialist comprehensive exams are take-home tests. Students should complete the appropriate exam for their degree (MA or EdS) during their last semester of classes. You can find the exam instructions and descriptions under Forms in the section below. Students must fill out a permit and results form and give it to their advisor at least six weeks before the exam due date. An information session will be held five weeks before the exam is due to answer questions. Students can also ask their advisors for help at any time.
Comprehensive Exam Due Dates:
- Spring Semester: First Monday in March
- Summer Semester: First Monday in June
- Fall Semester: First Monday in October
For more information, contact your program advisor. You can also download the exam instructions from this page anytime. Since all comprehensive exams are take-home, students can start working on them whenever they are ready. Be sure to review the PowerPoint under your degree tab for helpful tips on how to successfully write your comprehensive exam.
