Recreational Sports encompasses both Intramural Sports and Club Sports. Intramural Sports are recreational leagues played with and against your fellow Bears. Club Sports compete with other universities and provide professional development opportunities.

Intramural Sports - How To Play!

1. Purchase your Intramural Pass (Annual or Semester options) and you'll be ready to register for as many Intramural events as you want—no limits, just fun!

2. Use the Fusion Play App to register for leagues and tournaments, setup your rosters, and track your stats and scores! It's free to download with your Bear Email.

Intramural Sports

Get in the game and compete for the ultimate prize—a UNC Intramural Champ Shirt! With a variety of sports and competition levels, there’s something for everyone.

Here’s what to know before you join:
  • All UNC students, staff, and faculty are welcome to play
  • Spouses and dependents (18+) of students, staff, and faculty can also participate
  • Varsity athletes must wait one year to play the sport they lettered in
  • A current UNC Rec membership is required for all participants

Thinking About Being a Team Captain?
As Team Captain, you’re the go-to person between your team and the Intramural Sports office. It’s a fun leadership role—and here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
  • Making sure your team knows the rules and sportsmanship expectations
  • Letting us know at least 24 hours in advance if your team needs to cancel a game
  • Covering any forfeit fines your team may receive
You don’t have to do it alone—we’re here to help you lead your team to a great season!

Games take place at the UNC Recreation Center and the Multipurpose Outdoor Field—so get ready to play, indoors or out!

Club Sports

Club Sports are a great way to play the sport you love—or try something new—while being part of a fun, supportive team.

You’ll compete or play recreationally, build your skills, and grow as a leader. Along the way, you’ll gain real-world experience in organization, communication, and teamwork.

It’s more than just a game—it’s a chance to connect, grow, and lead.

Click on any of the BearConnect links above of the team(s) of interest to contact the officers for the club. You will join online using Fusion Club.

Email malik.osborne@unco.edu for information in starting a Club Sport.

Once you’ve joined a club, your officers will send you a link to pay your dues online—it’s quick and easy!
If online payment isn’t an option for you, no problem. Just stop by the Campus Rec Office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday to pay in person.
