Student Organizations
Wing Walker Honor Guard
Founded in 1981, The Wing Walker Honor Guard consists of a color guard and drill team dedicated to providing honors support to the corps of cadets and the communities of Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. Wing Walkers perform ceremonies for AFROTC events, university commencements, student athletics, national televised sporting events, and much more. Members qualified in exhibition drill compete once a year at the Southern California Invitational Drill Meet. Active Members of the Honor Guard complete a ten week training in drill and ceremonies, colors movements, and military history.
Arnold Air Society
The Arnold Air Society (AAS) is a professional, honorary, service organization advocating the support of aerospace power. The “service” aspect is perhaps the foremost in the mind of many members, because of the society’s continuing contributions to our campuses, our communities, and our corps–but it should always be remembered that our primary mission is to improve ourselves as future Air Force officers.
The Captain Mark Giles Danielson Squadron is the AAS squadron based out of Colorado State University and is a part of Region VIII. The squadron volunteers at and hosts various community service events throughout Colorado. All active members have completed an eight week training in drill, Air Force knowledge, and professionalism. For more information on the society please visit our website.
Silver Wings
Silver Wings (SW) is a national, co-ed, professional organization dedicated to creating proactive, knowledgeable, and effective civic leaders through community service and education about national defense.
Silver Wings’ predecessor organization, Angel Flight, had a specific objective of supporting the mission of Arnold Air Society. While this is no longer explicitly stated, Silver Wings remains committed to developing strong civilian leaders with an understanding of aerospace power–and obviously, the continuing partnership between Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings is critical to building this understanding. Membership is open to any interested student, and the organization is comprised of half civilian, non-ROTC members.
