We’re here to represent you. Our mission is to uplift student voices, advocate for your needs, and work alongside campus leaders to improve every part of your UNC journey—from academics and wellness to involvement and belonging.
From campus concerns to big-picture ideas, SGA advocates for student voices in the decisions that shape your experience at UNC.
Who We Are
SGA is made up of:
- 9 Executive Branch members
25 Senators (5 from each class + 1 from each college) - Representatives from campus groups like:
- Graduate Student Association
- Faculty Senate
- Professional Administrative Staff Council
- Classified Staff Council

What Do Senators Do?
Senators represent the colleges they belong to. Each senator has one vote during legislative meetings. They also serve on committees, which include the Campus Life and Engagement Committee, Academic and Curricular Committee, Appropriations Committee, Bylaws Committee and the Elections Committee.
