We assist UNC faculty and staff in the acquisition and management of funding for research and scholarship, creative activities, instructional programs, and service and outreach activities. We strive to provide the highest quality service while protecting the interests and integrity of scholars, researchers and the university.
Services We Provide
Finding Grant Funding
Information on funding opportunities is made available to colleges, schools, departments, offices and individuals; and assistance using funding databases is provided for those faculty and staff members who want to receive funding alerts.
Proposal Development and Submission
As the office authorized to submit external proposals that could result in awards to the university, OSP assists faculty and staff members with proposal development and submission.
Policies, Procedures and Forms
UNC has implemented policies and procedures to ensure that the principal investigator and the University are protected, and that research and scholarly activities are conducted ethically and in compliance with sponsors’ requirements.
Project Administration and Post-Award Management
ORSP helps principal investigators and project directors with all aspects of managing a funded award, from negotiation and acceptance of the award to the final close out.
Education and Training
OSP provides opportunities for members of the UNC community to become familiar with and develop skills in project development, proposal writing, and award management.
ORSP Activity Reports
ORSP maintains comprehensive data on proposals submitted and awards received by UNC faculty and staff members. Activity reports are provided in summary and detailed format.
Effort Certification
To keep in line with federal regulations, our Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) has refined our effort certification approach. We’re here to help you document and certify that the effort funded externally is accurately recorded.
