Faculty and Staff Housing
UNC is pleased to have a few options for housing our faculty and staff in on-campus spaces. We generally house faculty and staff in spaces in Lawrenson Hall or some of the houses UNC owns near campus. We have limited availability of both of these types of spaces. If you are looking for resources for housing for visiting scholars, please contact our office.
Long-Term Leases
For UNC faculty and staff desiring to stay on campus for longer than 60 days, we are pleased to work with our partners at Scott Realty Co. to help to administer applications for those wishing to live on campus.

Applicants must:
- Be currently employed at UNC
- Provide information for a background check for all occupants
- Pay $50 application fee, per tenant*
- Complete rental application at: https://scottrealtyco.com/unc
* Application fees will be charged to applicants/occupants over the age of 18 to pay for the background/rental history processing.
Rates
- Houses will vary by type of facility.
- Lawrenson Hall units are currently priced at $1,171/month (with utilities included)
Short-Term Leases
For stays less than 60 days, we have housing available for incoming staff on the upper floors of Lawrenson Hall. Lawrenson Apartments are 660 square feet. To learn more, please see a diagram of a Lawrenson Hall Double Double apartment with Furniture. All furniture that you see in the diagram will be furnished for you, including standard twin beds. (Note: Residents are allowed to remove university-owned furniture; however are responsible for the storage of removed furniture as well as its return in original condition.)

Faculty/Staff Short-Term Lease Rates 2023-24
- $1,103 + 10% tax/month*
*Rates are subject to change pending approval by the Board of Trustees, these rates are generally approved at the June meeting of the board. See UNC Board of Trustees for more information.
