Lead On Camp

Join UNC Housing and Residential Education for Lead On Camp, a leadership camp for incoming freshmen August 16 - 19, 2020. 

Our one-week program introduces you to campus, provides leadership training and opens opportunities to get involved at UNC making your transition to campus as smooth as possible.

Applications for Lead On Camp must be submitted by July 15, 2020.

Application Status Notifications

We notify applicants on their application status on a rolling basis throughout the summer.


Lead On Camp costs $100 a person. Cost includes: sessions, workshops, meals and a t-shirt.

Meet Our Facilitators


Giovanni "Gio" Esparza

Hey! My name is Giovanni Esparza (Gio for short) and I am a History major for Secondary Education with minors in Anthropology and Special Education here at UNC. I will be a Senior this year which means I have a lot of wisdom to give! I am from small town Berthoud, Colorado, I love learning new things, and I am very passionate about helping others. My passion for helping others has given me the opportunities to work with programs around campus such as University 101 and the Center for Human Enrichment (CHE). I am also involved with Greek Life here on campus and I will be a Student Senator for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences this year! This would be my second year as a Lead On Facilitator and I am very excited to make your transition to college a little easier! I look forward to meeting you all!



Lauren White

Hi everyone! My name is Lauren White and I am a psychology major with a minor in criminology and criminal justice. I love hiking, playing tennis and doing anything outside when it’s warm enough! I’m really looking forward to LeadOn this year and getting to know everyone!


Amanda Farrar

Hello! My name is Amanda Farrar! I am a senior here at UNC and I am majoring in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education and a minor in Gender Studies. I love being adventurous, spending time with friends and family, and trying new things! On rainy days I love cuddling up with my partner and watching movies, but on sunny days I love paddle boarding and exploring! This is my second year as a LeadOn facilitator and I am so excited to help make UNC feel like a new home and make the transition to college a little easier. I think you made a great choice coming to UNC, it’s a great day to be a bear! See you soon!


Susan De Tar

My name is Olivia Keitz and I’m going into my sophomore year as a psychology major here at this wonderful place called UNC! I’m from a tiny town called Bayfield, Colorado about six hours away. As for outdoor activities, I love going skiing, camping, hiking and occasionally I go scuba diving when I travel with my parents. A few fun facts about me is that I collect vinyl records, I have a husky named Wyome and I‘m a huge fan of Tim Burton directed movies. I participated in Lead On last year and I became close with people who have become my best friends. So, I’m super duper excited to get to know some of you guys and make some good memories!


Susan De Tar

Hey there! My name is Susan De Tar and I am a senior studying Criminal Justice with a minor in Communication here at UNC. I’m from Boulder, Colorado and transferred to UNC my sophomore year. I’m involved as a student employee on campus and with the Criminal Justice Society. When I’m not at school, I love reading spy novels or playing with my two beautiful dogs, Harley and Camper. I’m excited to meet you and help make UNC your new home!


Brittany Nagy

Hey everyone! My name is Cadence, I am a sophomore majoring in Psychology. This is my first year as Facilitator for Lead On and I'm so excited to meet all of you and welcome you to campus! I love to paint, draw, and listen to 80s music. I'm also a Class Leader for Uni 101. I hope you all have a lot of fun and make lots of memories during Lead On!


Brittany Nagy

My name is Brittany Nagy and I am a pre-health biology major minoring in chemistry and psychology! A few fun facts about me are that I have volunteered to go out of the country twice to build a basketball court in third world country areas. I also played on a club volleyball team for about 6 years as well as on my high school team. I have been a facilitator the past two years and I loved it, so I’m super excited to be a coordinator this year! I can’t wait to have the opportunity to give others a chance to make new friends and become more comfortable with this new chapter of their life.


Maxcy Ross

Hey everyone! My name is Maxcy Ross and I'm a sophomore Psych major! I was a participant in Lean On last year and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to be a facilitator. I cannot wait to meet you guys and hopefully create some really strong friendships, see you soon! 



 My name is Payton and I am a sophomore here at UNC. I am a Business Administration major with an emphasis is Management. I’m from the Western Slope of Colorado, I love going to Lake Powell, and I tend to not check the prices at the grocery store. I was a participant in Lead On last year, and the program was the best possible start to my freshman year! I am excited to meet everyone, and I hope to help each of you with this next step in life! 



This is my second summer doing Lead On and my first as a facilitator. I am a Theatre Studies Major and Film Studies Minor. my favorite thing to do during quarantine is watching Netflix and Disney+, playing basketball and video games.  I look a to meeting the new faces joining UNC this fall.


Nathan Stromberg

Hello! My name is Nathan Stromberg, I'm a sophomore majoring in Communications and I'm planning on minoring in Media Studies. A few quick facts about me are that I've done theatre for 13 years, I'm involved in Greek Life on campus, and I love doing trivia! I was a participant in Lead On last year, it was a blast and I can't wait to be a facilitator for you guys this year! I'm super excited to get to know you all and help you find your place on campus!


Mackenzie Lincoln

My name is Mackenzie Lincoln and I am an Elementary Education major! I have been in lead on for 2 years once as a participant and once as a facilitator! I am also the Vice President of Best Buddies which is a club for adults with disabilities! I’m so excited to meet all of you this year and make some great memories together! 


Danny Lyons

Howdy! My name is Danny Lyons and it's my second year at UNC. I'm majoring in History in Secondary Education. Some facts about me are that I have a puppy named Goose, I love getting tattoos, and I've broken 25 bones so far. I participated in LeadOn my freshman year and this will be my first time as a facilitator. I look forward to meeting you and making sure your transition to college is as smooth as possible. We're gonna have a great time regardless, but especially if you like country music. Can't wait to see y'all!


Rachel Carlson

My name is Rachel Carlson and I'm a Health and Human Services major applying to the nursing program this fall. Some of my favorite things are hanging out with friends around campus, reading, and enjoying the outdoors. I can't wait to show you all the great things UNC has to offer!


Dane MillerHass

Ayy! I’m Dane MillerHass, and I’m a Psychology Major. I’m a proud brother of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, and entering my sophomore year here at UNC. A few tidbits about me: I competed in the Colorado State Wrestling Tournament, I used to compete in MMA, and I like to write in my free time. I love visiting the outdoors, meeting new people, and going out with my friends. I was a Lead-On Participant last year, and can’t wait to take what I learned to all the new participants this year!



Brianna Fleeman

Hello, my name is Brianna Fleeman, but I go by Bri!  I am a sophomore here at UNC Greeley and I am part of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority here on campus.  I hold the Assistant Treasury position in my sorority and I am very passionate about Greek Life.  I am an Early Childhood Education major and I am minoring in Special Education.  In my free time I enjoy dancing, singing, musical theater, spending time with my pets, friends, and roommates.  I am very excited to participate in the Lead On Program for a second year in a row.  I can't wait to meet you all!
