UNC Vocal Jazz

The UNC Vocal Jazz Choirs at the University of Northern Colorado are widely regarded as some of the most elite ensembles in the country. Part of the world-class Jazz Studies program, these groups have collectively earned dozens of DownBeat Student Music Awards and hold the historic distinction of being the first and only collegiate vocal jazz program to receive a Grammy nomination (for the album Romeo & Juliet). Led by distinguished faculty including Marian Powers & Bailey Grogan, the program emphasizes a blend of intricate vocal harmony, advanced improvisation, and modern storytelling.
