Caroline is an outstanding student who brings energy, enthusiasm, and deep commitment to the interpreting profession. She embodies the highest qualities of an interpreter working in the field of educational interpreting and will be a future leader in the profession.

Portrait of Student, Elena Stuffel

2025 Honors Student

Elena Stuffel

Elena is an exceptional student. As a multilingual learner, she has continually demonstrated a passion for growth, even with over 20 years of experience as a nationally certified interpreter. Elena sees the value of systems thinking when it comes to approaching her interpreting work, recognizing that each assignment is situated in a system. With this framework, she passionately works in K-12 settings with a heart for students with emerging language. She has already used the content she has learned while in this program to lead workshops for her state and for a national conference presentation. Her receptiveness to feedback and highly reflective nature make her a standout scholar. Her commitment to post-graduate leadership and scholarly writing will undoubtedly contribute to meaningful change in the field.
