What is tuition insurance, and do I need it?

Tuition insurance is an optional plan that can give you peace of mind in case the unexpected happens.

UNC has partnered with GradGuard to offer tuition insurance that helps reimburse your non-refundable tuition and fees if you need to withdraw from the university mid-semester for a covered reason (like illness or injury).

What to know:

  • Your agreement is with GradGuard, not UNC
  • You can choose from three levels of protection
  • You must purchase coverage before the first day of classes for the term you want to protect
