Welcome to the Future Teacher Club!

We’re a student-led organization dedicated to supporting and inspiring the next generation of educators. Through hands-on workshops, professional development events, and valuable resources, we help future teachers grow both personally and professionally. Our mission is to cultivate an inclusive, diverse community where passionate individuals come together to learn, lead, and make a lasting impact in education.

What does the club do?

  • Hosts workshops and monthly meetings. Examples include:
    • Self-Care Workshop: Educator Edition (with guest speakers from the District 6 Wellness Team)
    • Using Music to Promote Social Emotional Learning (with guest speaker Dr. Clelyn Chapin)
    • Resume Workshop and Interview Tips (with several school principals and the Director of Human Resource for District 6)
  • Shares resources and tools with students to be successful in their careers in education
  • Organizes social events and volunteer opportunities to build community at UNC and with local school districts

How can I join?

  • Must be a UNC student
  • Attend any/ all of our events
  • Stay up-to-date by following us on Instagram and joining the Canvas shell for “attendance points” (Email us for more information about Canvas!)

Mental Health

We had the opportunity to learn strategies for practicing self-care as an educator from District Six's own Wellness Team.

In collaboration with UNC's Mindfulness Club, we took time to reflect on our mindfulness practices and how we can teach mindfulness in our classrooms (while making bracelets!)
