Registration Instructions
- Log in to MyUNC
- Complete Action Items – Financial Statement Responsibility and Emergency Contact Verification
- Proceed to the Registration Dashboard card located on the Bear Central and/or your Home tab, and select the Register: Add or Drop/Withdraw link.”
- Choose the appropriate term and enter your PIN when prompted.
- Enter the CRN in the Add Classes Worksheet or search for the course using the Class Search or Advanced Search link.
- When finished, click Submit in your Summary section to register for classes.

Look Up Classes
Log in to MyUNC to look up classes and plan your class schedule. Located on your Bear Central or Home tab on the Registration Dashboard.
Step 2: Prepare Your Academic Plan and Meet with Your Advisor
As you prepare to meet with your advisor and review your academic plan, make sure you review Degree Planner and outline a possible schedule of coursework to complete your degree. You can look up classes in your MyUNC portal and begin to plan your class schedule.
Be sure to look at course options for Summer 2026. Enrolling in Summer courses can be a great way to get ahead.
Step 3: Clear Registration Holds
Check for holds on your account
Login to MyUNC
In your MyUNC portal, select Student Profile on your Student Quick Links card located on your Home tab to find out whether any holds on your account prevent you from registering.
Do you have holds? If there are any holds listed in MyUNC, you will have to work directly with the department that placed the hold to have it removed. View the list of common holds for contact information.
Step 4: Register
Find your registration date in your MyUNC Portal. Your Date to Register can be found on the Registration Information Card under the Home or Bear Central tab.
