Add, Drop, Withdrawal and Audit a Class

Know Your Course Deadlines!

Deadlines for adding, dropping, or withdrawing from classes depend on the course’s part-of-term.
If you’re in a short or special-term course, check the Special Term/Short Course Report for exact dates.

To find your course-specific deadlines:

Log in to Ursa

Go to the “Registration Information” section

Click the link: “Course Drop/Withdraw Deadlines”

Important!

If you withdraw from a class after the drop deadline, you won’t get a refund — you’ll still be charged full tuition and fees.

Deadlines for Fall 2025

After your initial registration, you may need to add, drop or withdraw from a class. You can complete those actions in Ursa. Each item has potential implications for financial aid, tuition, and your transcript.  If you’re thinking about any of these adjustments, remember to watch the deadlines!

Add a Class

  • Tuition and fees are adjusted if applicable.
  • Course is added to your transcript.
  • Make changes in Ursa.

Using the College Opportunity Fund (COF) Stipend
To use the COF stipend, you must be registered before the drop deadline for that course.

How to Add a Course
You can add a class in Ursa up until the course’s official add deadline.
Not sure when that is? Check the Special Term/Short Course Report to find your course’s deadline.

Missed the Deadline?
If the add deadline has passed, you can still request to add the course by submitting a Petition to Late Add a Course to the Office of the Registrar.

Requesting to Add a Class Late?
If something serious and unexpected happened that was outside of your control, and it caused you to miss the add deadline, you can still submit a Petition to Late Add a Course.

Be sure to include a written statement explaining what happened.

You must have been attending the class on or before the drop deadline for your request to be considered.

The Office of the Registrar will make the final decision to approve or deny your petition.
