Transform your career with UNC’s Applied Data Analysis for Decision Making Graduate Certificate.
This program equips professionals with the analytical and communication skills needed to turn data into actionable insights for education, health, and social science settings. You’ll gain hands-on experience in qualitative methods, applied statistics, statistical computing, database management, and survey methods—building a strong foundation for data-driven decision-making roles.
Through the capstone course, SRM 665, you’ll complete a real-world applied data project, designing data collection, conducting analyses, and delivering findings to key stakeholders. You’ll also choose 3 elective credits in areas such as geographic information science, public health, business analytics, or higher education assessment to tailor your expertise.

Admission to the University as either a degree-seeking or non-degree seeking graduate student and completion of SRM 600 (or equivalent). It is also assumed students will have completed introductory coursework in statistics through the equivalent of SRM 603 before enrolling in SRM 625, though students may begin the certificate program without such coursework.
Rolling admissions for Fall and Spring terms.
To attain this certificate, you must complete 17 credits.
