The Aerospace Studies minor is open to all UNC students—not just ROTC cadets. This program gives you an inside look at Air Force organizations, missions, and operations while building a comprehensive understanding of military strategy, leadership and national defense.

In our Aerospace Studies minor, you’ll take courses to build the knowledge and skills for Air Force leadership through courses including:
- U.S. Air Force Heritage and Values – Understand the foundation of Air Force culture
- Team and Leadership Fundamentals – Develop core leadership capabilities
- Leading People and Effective Communication – Master essential officer skills
- National Security and Commissioning Preparation – Prepare for service and responsibility
- Social and Political Philosophy – Explore the broader context of military service

Airforce ROTC
Air Force ROTC at Detachment 90 offers students from the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado State University, Front Range Community College, and Aims Community College the opportunity to commission as officers in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force. While earning their academic degrees, cadets receive leadership training, hands-on experience, and career exploration opportunities across a wide range of fields. Detachment 90 is nationally recognized for excellence, earning the title of “Best Large Detachment in the Nation” in both 2019 and 2021.
