Interlibrary Loan
Can't find what you need at Michener or Skinner? You can request items from other libraries for free!
Do you need a book, chapter, or article that is not available from University Libraries? We can borrow it for you from another library. There is no charge to UNC faculty, staff, or students for this service.
Articles and Book Chapters
Submit an interlibrary loan request. You will receive your article or chapter via email.
Books
Try searching for your item in Prospector first. Prospector is a catalog of many libraries in Colorado and Wyoming. With one search, you can borrow items from these collections.
If your item is not available in Prospector, then submit an interlibrary loan request.
Depending on location and availability, it can take from 5 days to 3 weeks for an item to arrive. You will receive an email when your item arrives. You can pick it up from the main desk.
The loan period is determined by the lending library and is usually at least 1 week. The due date is written on the colored band attached to the item.
Other Items
DVDs and CDs are often difficult to get through interlibrary loan. eBooks are not usually available through interlibrary loan.
Return Interlibrary Loan and Prospector Items

- Michener Library main desk
- Skinner Music Library main desk
- Book drop at the north entrance of Michener
