Short-Term Study Programs

UNC deliver customized English language , academic, professional, and cultural training programs with recognition from our partner institutions. Our customized intensive programs, designed to meet the goals of participants and partner institutions, are balanced to maximize learning and allow time to explore American culture while participating in selected activities. The result is a rewarding cross-cultural learning experience.

We also work closely with international partners, governments, educational institutions, and private businesses to develop customized programs tailored to the needs of our partners.

Our short-term programs are designed to enhance personal brand with expertise in intercultural competencies with the following components:

Offered Programs

Language and Culture Program

UNC Language and Culture Program includes 2-3 weeks of intensive English instruction, series of hands-on workshops, and cultural and recreational activities. 

English for Success Program

The English for Success Program is a three-week non-credit online program that prepares students from around the world for academic success in an English-speaking environment. 

University Pathway Program

University Pathway Program is open to fall admitted exchange students. It prepares the students’ readiness for their study abroad adventures by improving their academic writing and presentation skills and understanding of American culture via various activities. The program starts a month before the fall semester begins.

Academic Training Program

Academic training program is based on the agreement between UNC and the partnering institution. The program offers a range of courses from introductory to advanced levels in different academic fields.  All courses are counted towards university credits at the student's home institution. 

Teacher Training Program

Teacher training program is a cohort-based program in which the participants develop and expand understanding of current pedagogical theory, educational technologies, and best practices in the field. We provide a wide array of instructional techniques that can be adapted to suit a wide range of classroom situations.

Professional Development Program

Professional Development Program focuses on developing professional skills in multiple areas, such as teaching English as a second language, nursing, school leadership, sport management, etc., delivered by UNC faculty and experts in the field.
