Tony Reyes

Anthony M. Reyes serves as Associate General Counsel at the University of Northern Colorado, where he assists the General Counsel in providing strategic legal counsel to university leadership. Tony advises senior administrators, faculty, and staff on a broad spectrum of legal and policy matters, including governance, regulatory compliance, employment, athletics, faculty issues, student issues, contracts, public records requests, litigation, risk management, and state and federal legal obligations. Tony is also a member of the Concern and Respond Effectively (CARE) Team designed to respond to students of concern, to identify referral options for the student and to make recommendations to campus officials.

Prior to joining the University of Northern Colorado, Tony served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Personnel Section of the Tort Litigation Division of the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office. As an AG, Tony advised executive branch agencies and department directors, administrators, and human resources professionals regarding employment actions. Tony has practiced in the public and private sectors, including roles as a partner in the law firm Riske, Salisbury, and Reyes (Cheyenne, WY); Deputy District Attorney (Cheyenne, WY); City Attorney (Gillette, WY); General Counsel Laramie County Community College; and several other legal positions.

Tony holds a Juris Doctor, Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from the University Wyoming. He is admitted to practice law in Colorado, and Wyoming. Tony is an active member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), and Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association.
