Professional Experience & Affiliations

Current Roles

While pursuing my degrees I gained work experience in adult community correction programs, youth and adult inpatient facilities, and youth residential treatment facilities. Upon graduation I began working in an evidence-based in-home family therapy model for youth- Multi-Systemic Therapy. I was a clinician on this team for 3 years and in a leadership role with the team for an additional 12 years. In the last 12 years I also held a leadership role with other in-home family therapy programs, trauma informed wraparound programs, youth-based crisis resolution teams, and behavioral health level of care evaluation programs. I am currently connected into the Counseling Center as the Executive Director and excited to support this team in providing quality mental health services to students and staff/faculty. It is important to me that we have a team culture and organizational philosophy that builds an inclusive and compassionate environment. I enjoy working alongside campus partners to engage in a community that cares for one another.

Therapeutic Approaches

My clinical and supervision lens focuses on systemic and strength-based approaches. I have experience in solution focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I value relationships and believe it is essential to understand others in their identities/cultural context and developmental phase.
