Biography
A native of southern Louisiana, Matthew brings a multidisciplinary background to his work, with experience in student conduct adjudication and support, higher education instruction, emergency response, and public safety education. Before joining UNC in the Spring of 2026, he previously spent nearly a decade as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Delgado Community College and has also taught social studies, Spanish, and college and career readiness at the secondary level. He is fluent in Spanish and has extensive experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
