Biography

Dr. Jessica Jessee has taught for the English Department at UNC for eight years, joining as full-time faculty in Writing Studies two years ago. Jessica earned her doctorate in English (19th-century American Literature) from the University of Kansas in 2014. She regularly teaches College Composition and Writing and Research Methods, but has also taught Introductions to Literature, Poetry, and Creative Non-Fiction, as well as surveys in 19th and 20th century American and British Literature. Prior to joining UNC, Jessica taught for University of Kansas, Front Range Community College, and Aims Community College, with a total of nearly twenty years teaching college English. Conference presentations include Modern Language Association and Society for the Study of American Women Writers, and publications include articles in The Emily Dickinson Journal and All Things Dickinson: An Encyclopedia of Emily Dickinson’s World.
