Her dissertation, “American Sign Language Fluency: A Foundational Competency for Future School Interpreters,” examined the pre-service preparation of school interpreters to improve interpreting services for deaf and hard of hearing students. She is also the co-author of Complexities in Educational Interpreting: An Investigation into Patterns of Practice (2nd edition). Throughout her career, Dr. Girardin has served the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the National Association of Interpreters in Education in various roles, including committees, task forces, and member sections.
