Career and Major Exploration
The Center for Human Enrichment's post-graduation and academic writing components provide participants with assistance in career readiness including career values and options activities, soft skills awareness, composing/revising personal statements for scholarships or graduate programs, as well as resume building, along with other resources. Students are encouraged to meet with the Coordinator and/or to attend sessions provided during fall and spring.
The CHE Coordinator of Post-graduation Planning and Academic Writing will:
- Support students with career and major selection
- Assist students in finding potential internships and work experiences
- Provide career readiness and major exploration enrichment sessions for exploring participants
- Require interviews with a faculty mentor to explore potential career options
- Provide first-generation alumni panels to inform CHE participants of potential career opportunities
- Encourage participation in campus-wide job and internship fair
- Guide students in preparing graduate school application materials
- Help with individualized resume/cover letter preparation and other written projects
- Invite CHE students to join career exploration campus events and interventions designed to foster preparation for career tracks
