Academic and Peer Advising

Academic Advising is an integral part of the Center for Human Enrichment (CHE) programming. The CHE advisors served as a secondary advisor to the student's major advisor.

Advising Team

The advising staff consists of full time advisors as well as peer advisors.  The primary goal of the CHE team is to support your academic and personal success throughout your entire undergraduate career at the University of Northern Colorado.

Besides individualized academic advising, CHE provides a variety of services:

  • Providing individual course recommendations
  • Meeting regularly one on one with students (all levels) to ensure academic persistence
  • Maintaining individualized graduation plans to monitor academic progress and success
  • Advising for major and career exploration
  • Guiding students through processes in finding internship, scholarship, job, and graduate school
  • Assisting with Financial Aid Literacy to proactively help students persist and graduate
  • Assisting in applying for admission to graduate school and obtaining federal student aid
  • Supporting first-year and transfer students’ transition to UNC
  • Maintaining support throughout the students’ undergraduate career

If you would like further information about advising within CHE, please feel free to visit us at your convenience at Michener Library, room L116 or call us at 970-351-1905. The staff is more than happy to answer any of your questions.
