Fall Welcome Message to Campus
Interim President Haddad welcomes the campus community and shares a message to kick off the Fall semester.
Dear Campus Community,
Welcome to a new academic year. As I begin my term as Interim President, I am honored to join you in celebrating the energy, optimism, and opportunity that comes with the start of a new school year.
In the spirit of servant leadership, I look forward to serving the university community by listening, engaging, and building on the strengths that make our institution exceptional. As we enter Phase IV of our Rowing, Not Drifting strategic plan, we have an opportunity to build on our momentum while remaining focused on what matters most: supporting one another in our responsibility to educate students and help them succeed academically, professionally, and personally; advance research; and remain attuned to the needs of our external partners.
This year, my goals are to strengthen collaboration across our campus, support student success, advance academic excellence, and foster a culture in which every member of our community feels valued, connected, and empowered to contribute. Together, we will continue moving forward with purpose and intention, guided by the vision outlined in Rowing, Not Drifting.
I encourage you to make the most of your university experience by getting involved beyond the classroom and participating in the activities that bring our campus together. Cheer on our Bears at athletic events, such as Nottingham at Night this Friday, attend performances and exhibitions that showcase the remarkable talent within our creative arts programs, support our students in academic and research activities outside the classroom, and participate in events that connect us with our broader community. Whether you are on campus, in the community, or traveling across the country, I hope you will share your Bear Pride proudly and help tell the story of our extraordinary university.
Finally, please join me at the upcoming State of the University on October 20, where I will share priorities for the year ahead, reflect on our progress, and discuss how we can continue building a strong future together.
I look forward to meeting many of you in the weeks ahead and wish us all a successful, inspiring, and memorable year.
Go Bears!
Interim President Haddad
