In higher education, it is important for institutions to meet the evolving needs of students and our communities.

Commencement is inching closer by the day – less than four weeks away – which means that we will soon add approximately 1,600 individuals to our alumni community.

It was great to see so many of you at our Staff Recognition Luncheon yesterday.

One thing that has been apparent to me across the nearly four years I have been President of UNC is that our university community is comprised of exceptional individuals.

Today is Employee Appreciation Day and I would like to take a moment to express my appreciation for each and every one of you and the important contributions you make within our community.

Like many of you, I am gripped by the coverage of the military invasion unfolding half a world away in Ukraine and find myself trying to make sense of what has occurred and what might happen next.

As discussed at the town hall, we are projecting enrollments will be down in fall 2022 and are implementing steps to lessen any declines, while focusing on building long-term enrollment strategies as we emerge from the pandemic.

Our history begins with the desire of Greeley’s citizens to establish a post-secondary school to address teacher preparation needs within our community and Colorado.

As we begin a new year and a new semester, each of us has a fresh opportunity to reflect on the collective impact we can make when we work together.
