Catalyst: A Social Justice Retreat
Catalyst is an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to engage in conversations around issues of inclusion and access on our campus and in our community. Participants and facilitators will examine their own identities and the role they play in creating an inclusive environment, along with concepts of advocacy for oneself and others. The goal is to help you develop the skills to be a catalyst for social change.
This year’s retreat will take place January 15-17, 2027 in beautiful Estes Park!
What is Catalyst?
The three-day, two-night retreat in Estes Park, Colorado, is free to all UNC students, faculty and staff who are selected through the application process. All meals, transportation and lodging will be provided.
Who is Catalyst for?
Anyone in the UNC community can apply to participate. Each year, students of all academic levels and faculty and staff from across UNC attend Catalyst, which creates a rich and dynamic environment for learning and discussion. The retreat will include both small group and full-group activities and conversations, so you will deepen existing connections and build new ones that span our campus.
