Welcome
Do you like discussing topics regarding social issues? Do you want to explore topics such as multiculturalism, power and privilege, and race? Do you want to create change on campus? Then Catalyst is for you!
Catalyst: A Social Justice Retreat is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to engage in conversation around issues of inclusion and social justice. Participants and facilitators will examine their personal identities; the dynamics of oppression on an individual, systemic, and institutional level; as well as work on ally development. Catalyst’s ultimate goal is to give students the skills to act on the issues and causes that they are most passionate about
Students have the opportunity to apply as participants, while returning students are given an additional option of applying as facilitators. Faculty and staff are encouraged to apply as facilitators and/or participants. Catalyst is free to all UNC students, faculty, and staff. Please see individual applications for specific application deadlines.
This year’s Catalyst retreat will be held in Estes Park, at the YMCA of the Rockies from January 18th to the 20th.
