UNC is on a journey of self-study and evaluation

In 2015, the university will be visited by a review team from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) as part of our reaffirmation of accreditation. To prepare for the visit, the university will complete a comprehensive self-study, which was initiated in academic year 2011.

Since 1916, the University of Northern Colorado has been accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA), one of six regional accrediting bodies in the United States. UNC’s accreditation was reaffirmed by the NCA’s Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in September 2004. Additional information about regional accreditation can be found in the Regional Accreditation FAQ.

This website contains information about accreditation and UNC’s self-study. Updates will be posted regularly about our progress and what we learn. Input and participation from faculty, staff, students, and community members is welcome.
