At the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC), we’re excited to connect with you. Whether you identify as LGBTQIA+ or want to be an active supporter, we’re here to help you thrive.
We approach our work through an intersectional lens, recognizing both the challenges and the strengths you bring to your college journey. Our goal is to empower and support you—inside the classroom and beyond.
What You’ll Find at the GSRC
The GSRC is more than a resource, it’s your space to study, relax, connect, and recharge. Here’s what’s waiting for you:
- Study spaces with computer access
- A Queer library with books and DVDs you can borrow
- A backyard garden for fresh air and reflection
- A full kitchen to prep meals or heat up lunch
- Two cozy lounges to hang out, meet friends, or unwind
- In-house counseling services for support when you need it
- All-gender restrooms and a private lactation room

Let’s talk. Let’s learn. Speak OUT brings lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender, queer (LGBTQ+) and Allied UNC students voices to the center through real conversations and lived experiences. Request a panel today and start the dialogue.
Counseling Support
Support is here when you need it. The GSRC offers drop-in counseling with Jon Paul Escarcega, MA, LPC, NCC, no appointment or prior client history required.
