Welcome to Our Home!
Dear Students of UNC:
As the Director of the Marcus Garvey Cultural Center, I would like to greet you with open arms and to invite you to visit the Garvey Center.
The Marcus Garvey Cultural Center aspires to serve as a support group for all Students and professionals here at the University of Northern Colorado. As an advocacy office, the Garvey Center seeks to assist in the monitoring of the academic progress of students of color and professionals, as well as supply them with information to promote a more positive experience at the University of Northern Colorado.
The Marcus Garvey Cultural Center is in place to work with other university organizations to ensure the creation of an institutional environment - both within and outside the classroom - that fosters students' full personal, academic, and professional development.
I would like for you to be my guest in being a part of the Marcus Garvey Cultural Center. The Garvey Center has tried to make the Davis House as comfortable and accommodating to students as possible. We cordially invite everyone to our Center for a tour, to attend our programs, to use our resource room, lounge area and conference room, to see and examine our artifacts, to interact with our staff and Black Student Leaders. We also have a major asset to our team here at the Garvey Center and she is our Office Assistant; she goes by the name of Cateline Corbin as we all here like to address her is as well happy to welcome you to the Garvey Center.
The Center is in the business of educational development and cultural exploration. I sincerely hope you can join us.
