If you love live theatre, you’ll have plenty of chances to be part of it at UNC. Each year, the School of Theatre Arts and Dance puts on a wide variety of plays, musicals and dance shows in spaces like Langworthy Theatre, Norton Theatre and Campus Commons Performance Hall. You’ll experience 6-7 mainstage performances per year.

Want more chances to get on stage or work behind the scenes? The Studio Season and Next Wave Series is a great way for you to build your skills. These shows are student-led and partially supported by the School of Theatre Arts and Dance. They take place in different locations around the Greeley community. It’s your chance to take the lead and bring your creative ideas to life beyond our mainstage productions and theatre classes.

We have a wide range of student-led organizations in the School of Theatre Arts and Dance, like Alpha Psi Omega, Dance Alliance, Chaos Improv Troupe and the Design and Technology Student Association, just to name a few. Each group is supported by an engaged faculty advisor and provides you with opportunities to produce original works, offer master classes and even host our own in-house version of the Tony Awards.

If you’re interested in summer theatre, check out Little Theatre of the Rockies. Started in 1934, it’s the oldest professional summer stock theatre west of the Mississippi and the oldest professional theatre company in Colorado. You can gain real-world experience by performing or working with this well-known company right here at UNC.

Get to know the UNC School of Theatre Arts and Dance at the High School Theatre Festival! You will have the opportunity to work with faculty and students in our morning workshops, audition for our programs and attend a special performance of our spring musical.
