Minor Overview
The Dance Minor is your chance to move, create and perform — no matter what you’re majoring in. You’ll train in multiple dance styles, push your physical limits and discover what your body can express.
Whether you’re choreographing your first piece or performing on stage, dance becomes your creative outlet and your release.
Designed for students with a passion for movement, the Dance Minor provides study in ballet, modern and jazz techniques, along with choreography, improvisation, and performance.
You’ll take courses that help you develop artistic expression, discipline, and physical awareness — skills that enhance any field of study.
You’ll take the following courses.
- Foundations of Hip Hop
- Tap Dance I
- Ballet II
- Jazz Dance II
- Modern Dance II
- Choreography and Improvisation I and II
- Dance Production in High School and College
You can choose from 1-2 of the following courses.
- Ballroom Dance I

- Musical Theatre Dance
- Acting Methods

From the Classroom to the Stage
Every year, the dance program produces one mainstage dance concert and several student performances.
