The Computer Information Systems minor equips you with practical technology skills that complement almost any major. You’ll learn how organizations use databases, software, and information systems to solve problems and make data-driven decisions.

The CIS minor requires 18 credits, including these mandatory classes:

  • Introduction to Business Intelligence and Workflow Design (3 credits)

  • Networking and Data Communications Systems (3 credits)

  • Database Management Systems (3 credits)

Plus 9 credits of CIS electives at the 300 level or higher such as:

  • Intermediate Web Development (3 credits)

  • Information Security (3 credits)

  • Advanced Business Intelligence Integrations and Testing (3 credits)

  • Systems Analysis and Design (3 credits)
