UNC Recognized as Top Place to Work in Student Affairs
The university was recently named as one of the 30 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs
The American College Personnel Association – College Student Educators International (ACPA) and The EDU Ledger recently named the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) to its 2026 list of Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs.
The list is compiled through a comprehensive survey of each participating university’s personnel policies, professional development processes and more. The recognized universities are chosen for their commitment to ensuring a positive workplace environment in the realm of Student Affairs.
This recognition underscores UNC’s ongoing mission to support students in part by fostering a healthy environment and strong sense of belonging for faculty and staff, as outlined under the Enhance & Invest vision element in the university’s Rowing, Not Drifting 2030 strategic plan.
“I am honored to receive this recognition from ACPA and The EDU Ledger,” said Keith Humphrey, UNC’s vice president for Student Affairs. “As a leader, my role is to create the conditions for my team members to do their best work for students, and that is exactly what I have been working towards at the University of Northern Colorado. My belief is that investing in our team directly results in student success.”
UNC is one of just 30 institutions to receive this year’s designation – the only Colorado university on the list and the first Colorado institution to receive the honor since 2016.
Moving forward, the university hopes not only to continue to uphold the values that earned this recognition, but to expand and improve upon each area of the university experience, from academic excellence to faculty and staff well-being, student satisfaction and more.
